Work in a well ventilated room when using volatile chemicals, for instance polyester resins, epoxy resins or gel-coats. This will greatly reduce the risk to inhale toxic substances. Wear gloves to protect your skin from chemicals.
Wear a dust mask when working with carbon fibers to protect yourself from carbon dust or stray fibers. It is particularly recommended when cutting or machining carbon fibers. Avoid manipulating fabrics and reaching to your face with your hands. A proper aspiration and/or air filtering system helps in keeping the ambient air clean.
