Triaxial weave spread tow carbon fiber fabric, 240g/m2
Product code: TXD-20-T700-240
Description
This triaxial weave carbon fiber fabric can be used to produce quasi-isotropic laminates in a single layer.
- It is woven from Toho Tenax STS40 standard modulus fibers.
- Its dense triaxial weave exhibits a fibre orientation similar to a [0/+60/-60] quasi-isotropic lay-up. Learn more about triaxial carbon fiber fabrics.
- Spread tows provide the fabric with practically straight fibers which are better suited to resist buckling. As a consequence the laminate is more resistant to compressive stress. Furthermore, due to their low crimp rate, spread tow fabrics enable a higher fiber-to-resin volume ratio compared with traditional reinforcement fabrics.
- Can be supplied with or without tape binder.
Possible processing methods:
Due to its relatively high area density, this fabric can be used to built sandwich skins in many applications: honeycomb and foam core carbon panels, surfboard and snowboard skins, kayak hulls etc.
This fabric is supplied on a kraft paper for ease of manipulation, wraped around a cardboard tube, protected by a polyethylene film against humidity and by a bubble wrap. For optimal conservation, storing should take place in dry conditions and below 30°C
